First, tonight is going to be a little different.....I am going to need your participation.

HOLD UP YOUR BIBLE.....what does this represent or mean to you?

Before you answer I want you to think about it...seriously think about it. Is it a book of rules and regulations...the dos if you want to get to heaven......history of things that happen long ago.

NOW ASK EACH PERSON THEIR OPINION.............lets discuss

I would like to suggest that how you perceive the bible is closely related to your perception of GOD

Now if you disagree with me, I have to ask the question.....How did you form your perception of God...and not only GOD, but God and his purpose in your life.

Has your belief in God been based on what someone else has told you.....we have had a lot of different speakers come to our church.....everyone of them use this book (BIBLE)

I would imagine some of us believed every word spoken, some may have disagreed with some of the messages and maybe some of us disagreed on everything that was said.

My question to you is .....what foundation is your relationship with God based on.....

Is it on the things you have heard here or maybe how you were raised....how about a denomination that you feel best represents your beliefs........you know all of these could be right or they could be all wrong.

How do we know what is TRUTH

If you have heard me talk in the past, my messages have been how wrong I have been about  GOD and the things that have been told about HIM....So one day I decided to find out for myself...I prayed that he would not show me who was right and who was wrong, but what was TRUTH.

Surely He never intended his believers to be divided over denominational lines...Imagine the force we would be...the voice we would have.

The answer.......in my opinion, it is in the journey, for me it is accepting that everything isn't right and everything isn't wrong. I am trusting God day to day to teach me new truths and not rely on old perceptions. To read His word with an open mind....when I don't understand ask Him to explain.

We can't develop a relationship with our Father without getting to know Him......so I would like to offer my take on what the Bible is.....a Diary......God talked, thought different writers...what was on His mind... His thoughts, His goals for us....what made Him happy, what made Him sad. What He hope we would learn that would help us live the kind of life that He new would make us happy. The provisions He made for eternal life though Jesus and the ability to live a meaningful life with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

That is my take on the Bible....right or wrong...I will try to learn more about God ...I will trust the Holy Spirit that He has given me to discern the TRUTH....my question to you to night is what foundation have you based your relationship with GOD. Is it one you can stand in front of God and say I truly tried to develop a Father son or daughter relationship or did I just go though the motions hoping to make it to heaven. You are going to miss an exciting journey.......I almost did.
